Position Overview:
As a Media Manager at Guru Communications, you will be a pivotal member of our media planning and buying team, responsible for overseeing the development and execution of strategic media campaigns for our clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging your expertise to drive effective communication strategies that align with our clients’ goals.
This role requires a deep understanding of the Canadian media landscape, strong leadership skills, and a passion for staying ahead of industry trends. There are unlimited opportunities for career growth with new responsibilities, titles and pay raises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Media Planning and Strategy:
- Lead the development of comprehensive media plans that align with client objectives and target audiences.
- Utilize market research and industry insights to inform media strategies and recommendations.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies to ensure campaigns remain innovative and effective.
- Campaign Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of media campaigns, ensuring seamless implementation and optimization.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing strategic recommendations for ongoing improvement.
- Collaborate with media buyers to negotiate and secure optimal media placements.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on media strategy and performance.
- Present campaign insights, results, and strategic recommendations to clients in a clear and compelling manner.
- Campaign Management:

- Oversee the end-to-end execution of media campaigns, ensuring seamless implementation and optimization.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing strategic recommendations for ongoing improvement.
- Collaborate with media buyers to negotiate and secure optimal media placements.
- Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the media team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless integration of media strategies.
- Budget Management:
- Manage media budgets effectively, ensuring efficient allocation and optimization of resources.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- University or College degree
- 7+ years of experience in media planning and buying of both digital and traditional channels
- Proven track record of successful campaign management and client satisfaction
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in media planning tools and analytics platforms
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to inspire and lead a team
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary commensurate with experience -$65,000-75,000 per year

- 3 weeks of vacation
- In addition to paid vacation time, Guru offers bonus paid time off at our discretion. This typically includes an extra day off on summer long weekends and a paid holiday closure at Christmas/New Year’s
